Arrival

By way of Athens

In Athens you have the choice between the ferry (ca. 7-9 hour journey) and a flight (45 minutes).

By Ship
From the airport you can take either a taxi (ca. € 40), the Airport Express Shuttle bus, or the underground to Piraeus harbor. The trip takes 1-1,5 hours, depending on the traffic. The trip to Ikaria by ferry takes 7-9 hours. Unfortunately we can't give you an exact schedule, as the departure schedule is subject to change. The up-to-date schedule can be found in the internet under the following address:  www.gtp.gr

Ikaria has two harbors: Evdilos, which in the high season has an almost daily connection to and from Athens, is ca. 14 miles from us. The harbor from Agios Kirikos, the main town on Ikaria, is further away. The trip by taxi on a winding road to Armenisits, ca. 40 miles away, takes ca. 1,5 hrs.

Tipp
If you have enough time before the ferry leaves, you can deposit your luggage at the ticket office "Philippis" and make a short visit to the old town of Athens. The Metro station is right across the street. The trip to the center takes 20 minutes.

By Plane
For those who want to avoid the lon journey on the ferry, it is more comfortable to take the Olympic Air and Sky Express flight to Ikaria. During the off season, there are 7 flights per week. During the high season there are 9 flights. The airport is located close to Agios Kirikos.

There are also flights from Thessaloniki and Limnos to Ikaria, booking at Olympic Air

An other opportinity to reach us is by charter flight to Samos. From the airport you take taxi to Vathi harbour (ca. 15 min.), and then the ferry to Ikaria (2-3 hours).

- 60 € from Agios Kirikos harbour - 70 € from Ikaria Airport
